POKOTABI / Sand Stand
Sand Stand
Just outside the west exit of Yatsuka Station, Sand Stand serves seasonal fruit sandwiches made with bread from a nearby bakery and cream from a local patisserie. The menu also includes crisp, refreshing cold-brew iced coffee and a house-made pancetta sandwich.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
A short walk from the west exit of Yatsuka Station on the Tobu Skytree Line, Sand Stand makes sandwiches in collaboration with local bakeries and pastry shops. One of its signature offerings is a seasonal fruit sandwich combining bread from Pan Rire, a bakery in Yatsuka, with cream and fruit from haberu in Koshigaya. Juicy seasonal fruits such as peaches and melons take centre stage, layered with light cream and neatly sliced bread. The result is satisfying without feeling heavy.
There are also savoury options, including a house-made pancetta sandwich. For a quick sweet treat, look out for baked goods such as banana pound cake, madeleines and strawberry boule de neige. To drink, the cold-brew iced coffee has a clean finish and pleasant bitterness; the menu also includes cold-brew Earl Grey, house-made lemonade soda and craft beer.
The interior pairs exposed concrete with wood and has seating for a relaxed break, while the takeaway option suits anyone passing through. Payment is cashless, with credit cards, transport IC cards and various QR-code payment services accepted. It is an easy stop between commutes, classes or a walk around the neighbourhood.
